Installation of Windows 7 is very simple. You have different options as, through Internet, Windows 7 installation disc, or USB Flash Drive. In each you get the option of setup.exe. Make sure that you have entered the valid product activation key.

However, if you don't have Windows Vista as a current OS, then judge your computer's hardware configuration with the help of Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, which is available on the Microsoft's website. Follow the recommendation given to you. Once, your computer is ready to afford Windows 7, perform the clean installation. However, don't forget to take back up of your entire programs and settings, so that you can retain them in future. Clean installation procedure of Microsoft's latest OS, is very much similar to the above upgrade, except, when prompted for "Type of Installation, you have to click on "Custom Install."
